Veteran Morgenrood set to clinch title

Trying to prevent that will be Larry Wilford (Fuchs Titan Corvette), Terry Wilford (Fuchs Titan Mustang) and Franco di Matteo (Varta Batteries Jaguar).

All could score victories especially in the second heat run with a reverse grid. Rounding out the V8 class will be Jody van Zummeren (Border Towing Corvette) and Steve Herbst in the Prei Instrumentation Corvette.

Rui Campos (Liqui Moly Shelby) has led the Sports Car charge throughout the year, and lies second to Morgenrood in the overall championship standings. He will be the favourite challenged by Ferdi van Niekerk (Motorola Cordless Shelby), Darryn Lobb (Shelby CanAm), Alan Eve (Pilot Pens Shelby), Craig Shorter (dotsure.co.za Shelby) and Andrew Strike (Strike 1 Shelby). Mike Verrier (Hawkins Nardini SP 310), has also been invited to race with the little sports car into the fray.

1 Robert Wolk (Midas FVW) goes to Cape Town as this year’s Formula Volkswagen champion. Fighting for the runner-up spot will be Nicholas van Weely (Anglo Rand FVW), Werner Scholtz (Motorvia FVW) and Chris Shorter (Etana FVW).

1 In the F1600 class Jason and Keegan Campos (Etana Mygales) are three points apart in the title chase. They will fight for the victories, challenged by Scott Temple (Ferodo Mygale).

George Ferreira (GF Plastics Mygale) has already clinched the Class B title but will not be letting up on chasing race wins. Rick Morris (Investchem Mygale) could also win as could Ian Schofield (Investchem Mygale) and Allen Meyer in another Mygale.
