UPDATE: Pedestrian accident – driver tells his side of story
The driver says he is still traumatised.
The pedestrian apparently did not see the approaching vehicle until it was too late.
The driver of the vehicle that hit a pedestrian on Albertina Sisulu Road on the West Rand is still traumatised. He wishes to remain anonymous while the investigation into the accident is under way, Roodepoort Record reports.
It was alleged that his vehicle hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road. ER24 paramedics found on arrival at the scene that the pedestrian had succumbed to his injuries.
However, the driver said he wished to set the record straight and said while the victim was running across the road, the pedestrian looked in the opposite direction, and apparently did not see his vehicle approaching. He hooted, but it was already too late.
