UPDATE: Identity of man gunned down in Sandton confirmed
It is alleged the deceased was an entrepreneur and businessman who had interests in the telecommunications and engineering sectors.
37-year-old entrepreneur Ignatius Mpambani was gunned down in broad daylight by four suspects on Bowling Avenue in Kramerville on 20 June.
Midday traffic ground to a halt on Bowling Avenue in Kramerville on June 20 as a man lay slumped over the steering wheel of his luxury vehicle with fatal gunshot wounds, Sandton Chronicle reports.
Police have confirmed that the victim was Ignatius Mpambani, 37‚ an entrepreneur who had interests in the telecommunications and engineering sectors. He was also popular in the Free State, where he had been a driving force behind festive season entertainment events in Welkom.

“That’s how my friend and homeboy from Welkom‚ Free State … ‘Igo’ Mpambani’s life ended … may your soul rest in peace‚” his close friend Louis Lebusho Moahlodi said in a post on Facebook.
Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, said: “Upon closer inspection on the fateful day, paramedics found a man, believed to be in his 40s, lying in the front seat of his vehicle and when paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous gunshot wounds and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done and he was declared dead on the scene.”
