Tyres burn as protest action flares on N2

Commuters have been warned to avoid the N2 Northbound before the Edwin Swales interchange due to heavy protest action on Thursday.

Traffic has been badly affected as protesters have placed burning tyres across the road, Northglen News reported.

According to i-Traffic KZN, the N2 going north has been closed. There is said to be police presence at the scene.

The motivation behind the protest action is unclear at this stage.
