Two suspects wanted for shooting security guard in Silverton

Police are searching for two men who shot a security officer in Silverton, Pretoria, last Friday.

Silverton police spokesperson Captain Jan Sepato said the men allegedly tried to force themselves into a casino in Pretoria Road.

A scuffle ensued and the security officer was shot, Rekord East reported.

The men then ran away.

The police were notified and flagged down a Netcare 911 vehicle around 21:30 to treat the man.

“Paramedics treated the critically wounded man at the scene before taking him to hospital,” said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha.

Sepato said a docket for attempted murder was opened at the Silverton Police Station.

He urged anyone with any information to contact Detective Constable Ditlake at Silverton police station.
