Two seriously injured after N1 crash in Randburg

Two people were seriously injured after a light motor vehicle crashed into a truck on the N1 after the Malibongwe turnoff in Randburg on Tuesday morning.

ER24 reports that paramedics arrived at the scene to find a truck parked across four lanes of the highway, with the light motor vehicle found behind the truck.

A man and a woman travelling in the light motor vehicle sustained numerous serious injuries, and were reportedly in a serious condition. They were transported to hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the truck escaped unscathed.

The crash resulted in heavy traffic, with motorists being forced to use the emergency lane.

Authorities were on the scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
