Two cop killers denied bail in Mpumalanga

Two suspects charged with the murder of the late police constable, Senyane Joseph Hlongwane, 36, were denied bail by the Vaalbank Magistrates’ Court in Mpumalanga.

Emmanuel Lerato Molele, 35, and Tebogo Ernest Ledwaba, 29, were arrested by members of the Hawks in Mpumalanga on Monday, bringing the number of suspects linked to this murder to three, Mpumalanga News reported.

The suspects fatally wounded Hlongwane in July 2016 while he and his colleague attended a house robbery in Vaalbank. On their arrival, the suspects allegedly opened fire at them, instantly killing Hlongwane.

They were remanded in custody and will again appear in court for their formal bail application on March 2.

Their co-accused, Raggy Lekgowa Magongwa, 24, was arrested a month after the incident and is expected to make his court appearance on March 27.
