Gauteng police have issued an urgent appeal to the public to locate three missing police constables.

The trio, two females and a male, 24-year-old Constable Cebekhulu Linda, 30-year-old Constable Keamogetswe Buys and 20-year-old Constable Boipelo Senoge, were travelling in a white VW Polo sedan from Bloemfontein to their area of deployment in Limpopo when they went missing.

Lamola welcomes Tanzania’s decision to lift ban on SA agriculture imports

Tanzania has lifted a ban on imports of agricultural produce from Malawi and South Africa, days after imposing it in retaliation for similar measures imposed by the two southern African nations.

Tanzania Plant Health and Pesticides Authority (TPHPA) director-general Joseph Ndunguru said that Tanzania was lifting the ban effective immediately to allow for “a diplomatic ministerial discussion”.

Umlazi mudslide: child buried alive survives ‘through grace of God’

At least six people were hospitalised and seven others were left homeless after a mudslide destroyed two homes in P Section on Friday.

One person was believed to have been killed in the incident but officials were later told the deceased woman had died of causes unrelated to the mudslide.

Vaal Dam exceeds 120% capacity after opening of 10th sluice gate

The Vaal Dam has reached a concerning 120.69% capacity as of Saturday, according to the latest Vaal Dam and Vaal Barrage Hydrological Information.

This represents an increase of 2.21% since Friday, when the department of water and sanitation (DWS) opened the 10th sluice gate as the dam water levels reached a critical rate of 118.48%.

Family, friends, colleagues, and government officials gathered at the Germiston Civic Centre on Saturday to pay their final respects to veteran actor Don “Bra Don” Eric Mlangeni-Nawa, who passed away last Wednesday at the age of 65.

The award-winning thespian, known for his four-decade contribution to South African television, was honored with the announcement of a new mentorship program bearing his name.
