A 38-year-old groom was arrested by eShowe detectives in KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday after he fired a number of warning shots at his wedding, subsequently killing an 18-year-old and wounding another victim, Zululand Observer reports.
The incident is said to have occurred during a traditional wedding that took place at the groom’s homestead at Ezingwenya Reserve, eShowe, on Sunday.

The groom, who faces charges of murder and attempted murder, apparently fired the warning shots to disperse a crowd after a scuffle broke out between some young males.
The firearm was confiscated and the groom will appear at the Eshowe Magistrates’ Court in due course.
