Three of the six army officials have been killed in a sewer pit incident in Durban Harbour on Friday.
“ER24 paramedics found rescue teams already in attendance, situated near a sewer pit,” said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
“Rescue teams had already retrieved the bodies of six men from the sewer pit. Paramedics assessed all six men and found they showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the men, and they were declared dead on the scene.”
Rescue Care confirmed three of the men were civilians, while the other three were army officials, Southlands Sun reported.
