Three pupils killed, one critical after being hit by taxi in KZN

Three schoolchildren were killed and one left in critical condition after being hit by a taxi on Dumisanya Makhanya Road near VN Naik School For The Deaf in Newlands East Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, on Wednesday morning.
“Just after 07:15 Rescue Care Paramedics responded to the serious crash and on arrival found carnage. Four teenagers on their way to school had been hit by a taxi whilst crossing the road. Three of the four had sustained major injuries and unfortunately there was nothing more Paramedics could do for them and they were declared deceased on the scene.
“One female had sustained critical injuries and was stabilised on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being rushed through to a nearby Hospital for the further care that she required. All the teenagers were females,” said Arrive Alive.
At this stage the events leading up to the collision were unknown, and the SAPS were on the scene investigating further.
Emergency services were also attending to the scene.
