The drama unfolded on Klapper Street in Edleen on Thursday when the four men got involved in a shootout with officers of MML Security, Kempton Express reported.

According to MML, its control room received a panic activation at 1.41pm from a client on Klapper Street, Edleen. The client informed the controller there was a white car with four men breaking into a house across the road.

It was at that point that the officers were noticed by the suspects and things started taking a turn for the worse. A shootout followed between the suspects and the reaction officers before the men sped off.

After a long chase from Edleen to Allandale Road the reaction officers could no longer keep up with the reckless driving of the fleeing driver and decided it was safer to stop the pursuit.

According to MML a lookout for the vehicle was given to the police and metro police.

One of the vehicle’s tyres then burst and the driver lost control of it on Allandale Road. Two of the men were apprehended by the police.
