Former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor has expressed concern over the high number of murders of women and children in the country.
In the past few weeks, family members and friends have been taking to social media, seeking help to find their missing loved ones. Some women have also been sharing stories of how they managed to get away from suspected abductors, claiming they were injected with substances that made them pass out.
Commenting on the murders, Mentor took to social media to ask if these murders were sacrifices to the devil. She even went as far as to ask if President Jacob Zuma was behind the murders. “Is Zuma a satanist?” she asked.
Though most said she was right in asking if the murders were satanic rituals, they criticised her for including the president in her status.
One of her followers said: “The Problem with this Post is that people want us to believe that Evil is more powerful than good. Secondly, we are being given a scarecrow to chase after. I hold no brief for Zuma but the Killings by girls cannot be Attributed to Jacob Zuma.”
The former MP has criticised the president and the party’s top leaders for ruining the ruling party. Though top party leaders have done more or less the same, Mentor said they were the ones to blame for the problems in the ANC, as they had been “propping up” Zuma and been his “enablers”.
“They/This include(s) [Cyril]Ramaphosa, Gwede [Mantashe], [Lindiwe] Sisulu, [Mathews] Phosa and all! Now that they want his office the penny has dropped on them suddenly? I am not convinced shem,” she said.
She said the only way to rescue the ruling party would be if new faces were elected to the top positions.
“Otherwise the Opposition will govern SA in 2019, but by then, SA will be nothing but a hollow shell only,” she said.
