Woman hijacked in Benoni

The woman was driving out of her garage when suddenly a white Bantam bakkie stopped behind her car.


A woman was hijacked on Tuesday morning, February 7, at 6.40am on 3rd Avenue in Northmead, in Benoni, reports the Benoni City Times.

According to Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson, Captain Ramothakhi Maqabe, the woman was driving out of her garage when suddenly a white Bantam bakkie stopped behind her car.

“One suspect produced a firearm, walked towards her and demanded the car keys,” added Maqabe.

“The suspects robbed the woman of her Bantam bakkie with a canopy.”

A case of hijacking was opened at the Benoni Police Station.

No injuries were reported, and no arrests were made.
