Questions surround the body of a woman found in a ditch in Moffat View, in the south of Johannesburg, on Tuesday morning.
Moffat View police spokesman Captain Jeff Phora said the woman was found on the corner of the N17 and Wemmer Pan Road.
The woman was wearing blue denim jeans with a black and white top. She apparently had a black wig on. The wig and the woman’s Sissyboy handbag were found near the body, according to Phora.
Police have contacted the next-of-kin, although the identity of the woman remains a mystery.
The woman, believed to have been aged between 35 and 40, was light-skinned in complexion, but could also have been coloured, according to Phora.
He said there was no clear information that could assist in identifying the woman. “No visible injuries were found on the deceased, we are now relying on autopsy [report] to determine the cause of death,” he said.
