Isolated showers and thundershowers expected in parts of KZN, Eastern Cape

Isolated showers and rain expected along the KwaZulu-Natal coast and adjacent interior, with isolated showers and thundershowers expected over the escarpment of Mpumalanga on Friday night
The isolated showers and thundershowers will move to the eastern parts of the Eastern Cape as well as the western parts of KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is also expecting isolated showers and rain along the Cape coast and adjacent interior on Saturday.
Extreme high fire danger conditions are expected over the eastern part of the Northern Cape and the south-western parts of the North West.
“Conditions are such that the FDI index is above 75. Under these conditions, fires may develop and spread rapidly, resulting in damage to property and possible loss of human and animal life,” warned the weather service.

Gauteng: Partly cloudy and warm weather. The expected UVB sunburn index: high.
Mpumalanga: Cloudy in the east in the morning with drizzle and fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm.
Limpopo: Cloudy in the east in the morning with drizzle and fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm.

North West: Fine weather in the extreme west, otherwise partly cloudy and warm.
Free State: Partly cloudy and cool to warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south.
Northern Cape: Fine weather in the north, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm over the southern interior, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south-eastern parts.
The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.
Western Cape: Cloudy and cool with light rain in the south-west but scattered in along the south-west coast.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly becoming but fresh to strong in the southwest by the afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn index: moderate.
Western half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy and cool weather with isolated showers and rain in south-west. The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly, becoming south-westerly in the afternoon.
Eastern half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy and cool weather. The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly, becoming south-westerly.
KwaZulu-Natal: Partly cloudy and cool, but warm in places in the north with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east.
The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly. The expected UVB sunburn index: moderate.
