Heatwave Alert: persistently high temperatures expected in Gauteng on Wednesday

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a heatwave warning as it expects persistently high temperatures in Gauteng and the eastern parts of North West until Friday.
While other parts of the country can expect fine and warm weather, some areas in the Northern Cape will see hot conditions.
In Mpumalanga and Limpopo, drizzle is predicted along the escarpment in the morning.
Cloudy to partly cloudy in the east in the morning, becoming fine and cool to warm.
Coastal winds will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly along the west coast.

In the western half of the Eastern Cape, expect partly cloudy and warm conditions, with some cooler spots along the coast.
The coastal wind will be moderate south-easterly, becoming moderate to fresh north-easterly in the evening.
In the eastern half of the Eastern Cape, it will be partly cloudy with some fog patches in places south of the escarpment, otherwise fine and cool.
Coastal areas will experience moderate south-westerly winds at first, then they will shift to south-easterly, becoming moderate to fresh north-easterly from late afternoon.
KwaZulu-Natal weather:
Morning fog will be present over the interior.
Otherwise, expect partly cloudy and cool conditions.
Coastal winds will be moderate south-westerly, becoming south-easterly.
