Extremely high fire danger conditions expected in parts of Northern Cape
Those who will be running the Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town should prepare for warm conditions.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning for extremely high fire danger conditions are over the Nama Khoi municipality of the Northern Cape on Saturday.
“Conditions are such that the FDI index is above 75. Under these conditions, fires may develop and spread rapidly, resulting in damage to property and possible loss of human and/or animal life,” warned the weather service on Friday.
Those who will be running the Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town should prepare for warm conditions.
Showers and thundershowers also expected over parts of Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal on Friday night.
Saturday’s weather forecast
Gauteng: Partly cloudy and cool to warm. The expected UVB sunburn index: extreme.
Mpumalanga: Cloudy and cool to warm with a chance of drizzle and fog patches along the escarpment, becoming fine in the Highveld in the afternoon.
Limpopo: Cloudy and cool in the north and east with a chance of drizzle and fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm.

North West: Fine and cool to warm weather.
Free State: Fine and cool to warm weather.
Northern Cape: Fine and cool to warm weather, but hot in the extreme north-west. The wind along the coast will be strong south-easterly to southerly.
Western Cape: Morning fog patches in the east, otherwise fine and warm but cool in places along the south-west and south coast as well as over the eastern interior.
The wind along the coast will be moderate west to north-west along the south coast where it will become light and variable in the afternoon, otherwise fresh to strong south to south-easterly, but light to moderate east to north-easterly between Cape Point and Cape Agulhas in the morning. The expected UVB sunburn index: high.
Western half of the Eastern Cape: Fine and cool weather. The wind along the coast will be Light to moderate south-westerly.
Eastern half of the Eastern Cape: Fine and cool weather. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly.

KwaZulu-Natal: Morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but warm in the north-east with isolated morning showers/rain in the north coast. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly. The expected UVB sunburn index: very high.
