Calmer weather is expected across the country, with the South African Weather Services (Saws) issuing no warnings for adverse conditions.

Several parts of the country experienced severe thunderstorms, resulting in heavy downpours and flooding in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

Parts of the Free State, Mpumalanga, Gauteng and North West were also not spared.  The situation was exacerbated when Eskom implemented stage 2 load shedding on Thursday.

South Africa experienced colder weather this week in the country as winter approaches.

With moderate weather expected for Sunday, Saws only warned of extremely high fire danger conditions over the West Coast and the western parts of the Garden Route district of the Western Cape.
