Water tower to ensure more consistent water pressure in Benoni

The new tower will supplement the existing one.

Water pressure in Benoni will be more consistent after the completion of a 5.5Ml water tower in Hospital Road, Northmead, reports the Benoni City Times.

“The project is currently at tender stage and adjudication is under way,” said Themba Gadebe, the metro spokesperson.

“The contractor is expected to be appointed by early April.”

Gadebe said the new tower will be 5.5Ml and will supplement the existing one.

“The new tower will be used together with the existing reservoir to improve water supply and pressures, especially in the high-lying areas,” he added.

The project, which carries a budget of R60 million, is scheduled to be finished within 18 months, making the anticipated completion date, November 2018.
