WATCH: Zuma’s ‘response’ to Cabinet reshuffle question
The president can then be seen entering his car following an appearance in parliament.
As more information emerges on a possible Cabinet reshuffle by President Jacob Zuma, the president remains ambiguous about the issue.
eNCA reporter Lester Kiewit tweeted a video of Zuma “responding” to a question on a possible reshuffle. In the video, Kiewit asks if a reshuffle is imminent and following that, laughter can be heard but it is unclear if this came from Zuma.
The president can then be seen entering his car following an appearance in parliament, seemingly without directly responding to Kiewit’s question.
Earlier on, the SA Communist Party confirmed that the president had informed the party, along with the African National Congress’s top leaders, that he intended to fire Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and his deputy Mcebisi Jonas.
This is due to a dubious intelligence report which alleges that Gordhan intended to use the now cancelled roadshow to meet with people intent on overthrowing the government.
According to reports, the SACP deputy general secretary Solly Mapaila informed Zuma that the party did not agree with his plans to axe the finance minister.
