A woman heroically shielded a child when robbers ambushed a Cape Town bakery recently.
In a video, two of the men watch the store while customers are still present.
The woman and child appear to be waiting for something while a young boy is being served at the counter.
One of the suspects pulls out a gun and jumps over the counter headed for the stores back office.
In a panic, the customers try to escape. They are forced back in as other accomplices barge into the store.
A third man can be seen forcing the customers down. The woman quickly shields the child using her entire body as she goes down on the floor.
The gang searches for money and leaves the store empty-handed.
The attempted robbery happened at the Delite Bakery in Lotus River on Friday.
