Newly elected ANC deputy president David Mabuza earlier this year once said he had never been invited to campaign events in Mpumalanga held by former presidential candidate Cyril Ramaphosa.
Speaking to SABC News, Mabuza explained why he had been notably absent during campaign events by the CR17 campaign in the province, saying he would have appreciated to receive a courtesy call from the campaign.
“This is Mpumalanga, I’m staying with the people of Mpumalanga. I’m the best person to arrange a meeting … If you decide to exclude me, you exclude me at your own peril,” Mabuza said.
However, the Mpumalanga premier also said he had “the best relationship” with Ramaphosa.
