WATCH: Video evidence leads to arrest of officers for fraud
Yusuf Abramjee says a quick investigation has confirmed that suspicions against the officers were justified.
Picture for illustration.
According to social cohesion activist Yusuf Abramjee, a video he shared of the alleged suspicious behaviour of metro police officers has led to two arrests.
Abramjee had earlier called for an investigation when he came across the video evidence.
It appeared that a bribe may have been received by the officers.
A man recorded this video after he witnessed the behaviour from two JMPD officers.
It looks like two men are body searched, but the officers don’t get out of their vehicle. There is also some kind of “exchange” or items taken from men.
Watch the video below and decide for yourself.
Abramjee praised Michael Sun, the member of the Joburg mayoral council for public safety in the City of Johannesburg, for getting involved.
