WATCH: This Jacob Zuma meme will leave you in stitches

If there is anything South Africans are good at, it is finding something funny in a serious situation. Social media users pay close attention to what politicians and celebrities do and say, and they always make sure to share it with those who might have missed the moment.

In a video that has been circulating on social media, President Jacob Zuma is seen being interviewed by a TV crew about something he claims never happened. He says he will tell the journalist whatever it is when the time is right, much to the journalists’ delight.

“What I’m telling you, I don’t know. Since last year, this speculation has been there, it has never happened. Just forget about it, I will tell you about it when I need to tell you,” he says.

Someone on the internet saw the video and thought the president’s response could be best for when someone asks about graduating, so it was turned into a meme.

If the question was: when are you graduating? Mr president would have said:

Video posted on Facebook by Katlego Queen Moloto.

The meme is relevant now as EFF leader Julius Malema will on Wednesday graduate for his BA Honours in Philosophy at Wits University, along with the party’s national spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, who has obtained a PhD in Politics.

Congratulations to the fighters, we guess the president will let us know when he graduates.
