WATCH: EFF explain why they had dramatic parliament walkout
By the time Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba leaves his post, the South African fiscal will have collapsed, the EFF said.
The EFF walked out during Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba’s mid-term budget speech yesterday.
The party said Gigaba was the biggest enabler of state capture and that he was a Gupta stooge.
“We decided to raise an urgent motion in parliament that Malusi Gigaba must be prevented from delivering the medium-term budget policy statement because of all the people that are involved in state capture,” Shivambu said, speaking to reporters outside the steps of parliament following a walkout by his party.
“Gigaba has been the route through which the Guptas have captured Eskom, Transnet, Denel and all the major state-owned companies. He is continuing on the same trend, so to sit there and legitimise him and treat him as if he is a legitimate minister of finance [is] collaboration in crime,” said Shivambu.
