Fortunately, the worst is over for the province, according to Storm Report SA on Facebook after warning against fake reports claiming otherwise. Though there was another cold front being monitored, it would not be as strong as the previous one, said Storm Report SA.
“We have received numerous inquiries about the current cold front due to make landfall over the Western Cape on Saturday. The current cold front we are monitoring will not nearly be as strong as the previous cold front as stated in a previous forecast.
“We don’t expect any damage from this front. We expect between 15-25mm of rain over the low laying areas of the Western Cape and up to 50mm of rain over the mountain catchment areas.
“The message that is being sent around that this storm being twice as big is complete nonsense. Please don’t send that message to anyone,” it said.
