A video of ANC eThekwini regional secretary Bheki Ntuli’s bodyguards flaunting their guns has caused an uproar on social media.
In the video, the two men in suits flaunt an AK47 and a 9mm gun, saying in IsiZulu: “It’s going down for the dog today. The dog will die today.” His colleague says: “Ek se, it’s going down for real today.”
The two did not clarify who they were talking about.
They then take out a 9mm gun and show it to the camera as they keep saying: “It’s going down.”
The other man on the driver’s seat takes out an AK47 and shows it to the camera.
The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has distanced itself from the video, calling for the security guards to be dealt with.
“The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal has been exposed to a disturbing circulating video in which the security guards of the ANC eThekwini Regional comrade Bheki Ntuli are displaying firearms and high-calibre assault rifle.
“The African National Congress strongly denounces and distances itself from this irresponsible display of weapons, irrespective of the purpose for which it was done. We call on the security company responsible for these security guards to take actions against this unpalatable conduct,” it said.
The two have reportedly been fired.
