WATCH: ANC MP takes Parliament to church during Sona debate
Asked about the relevance of his sermon, the MP said: ‘I have never heard of a point of order on a sermon, a word of God.’
ANC MP Zet Luzipo took Parliament to church on Wednesday during the Sona debate.
African National Congress (ANC) MP Zet Luzipo stunned many in Parliament on Wednesday when he took out his Bible and used the podium as a pulpit during the debate on the State of the Nation Address (Sona).
The ANC MP shared with the Assemble four Bible verses about how those who live by the word of God should live daily.
Luzipo took exception to DA leader Mmusi Maimane’s speech during the debate when he accused the ANC government of being murderous with regards to the deaths of more than 100 psychiatric patients who died after they were transferred from Life Esidimeni to unlicensed facilities in Gauteng.

Maimane said the governing party had turned from being the liberator of the people to the enemy of the people in his speech.
Luzipo expressed his concern at the DA leader’s “faith”, saying the level of anger he had displayed was worrying for a preacher and urged him to always preach peace.
Maimane is a preacher at the Discovery Church in Randburg, in Johannesburg.
Asked about the relevance of his sermon, Luzipo shut down opposition MPs, saying: “I have never heard of a point of order on a sermon, a word of God.”
