Wanya tsotsi, says Malema of Ntlemeza

Police Minister Fikile Mbalula visited the Hawks head office in Pretoria on Monday afternoon and said in a press conference that former Hawks head Berning Ntlemeza acted unlawfully by making an appearance at the offices on Monday morning.

This despite him no longer being an employee of the Hawks and, as an ordinary member of the police, having been told to report to acting national police commissioner Lieutenant-General Khomotso Phahlane.

Ntlemeza reported for duty this morning and apparently ordered the head of supply chain to give him a car “which is roaming around the streets of Pretoria or wherever he is this afternoon. And he’s got a cellphone of government and the state in his possession and whatever that he’s got. I have communicated with General Phahlane before I came in here that all of that must not only be repossessed, they must be found, and brought back to the state, and all shall be in order”.

Mbalula further said a warrant of arrest would have to be issued, as Ntlemeza had broken the law.

“General Ntlemeza is not entitled to report for duty or to exercise any powers or duties afforded to the head of the Hawks until and unless the SCA reverses the court’s order,” said Mbalula.

Even EFF leader Julius Malema has joined calls for Ntlemeza to be found. Taking to Twitter on Monday afternoon, Malema urged South Africans to help locate the “crook”.
