VIDEO: Dineo claims eight dolphins

Eight dolphins, including two babies, tragically died when they became disorientated by the Dineo tropical storm.

Tropical storm Dineo had a devastating effect on a pod of 16 dolphins this morning, Lowvelder reports.

Members of the pod beached in front of Cashew Bay Lodge, in Inhassoro, in Mozambique.

Sadly, eight of them, including two babies, did not make it.

Thankfully, lodge staff and crew noticed the dolphins at about 1.30am and carried them out as soon as they could.

The eight surviving dolphins were swum out, but kept on beaching because they were disorientated. Eventually, after a few attempts, the dolphins that were saved swam out.
