Two Pretoria brothers arrested for allegedly killing their neighbour, 40

Two brothers from Eersterust, in the east of Pretoria, were arrested on Wednesday morning for allegedly killing their neighbour.

Police spokesperson Sam Shibambo said it is alleged that the two brothers, both in their early twenties, were involved in a brawl with their 40-year old neighbour on the streets in Sionsberg, Eersterust.

“During the fight, the victim was stabbed several times on the upper body and was rushed to a local clinic where he succumbed to his injuries.

“The police arrested one of the brothers at the same clinic where the deceased passed on and proceeded to arrest the other brother at his place of residence,” Shibambo said.

The motive for the murder is not yet known and both brothers have been detained at the Eersterust police station.

Shibambo said the brothers will soon appear in the Pretoria Magistrate Court.
