Twitter not impressed with Ndlozi’s birthday message to ‘bae’ Mmabatho

It’s actor Mmabatho Montsho’s birthday today, and her rumoured bae, also known as the ‘people’s bae’, EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, shared a birthday message that left his followers questioning his ‘bae’ status.

Taking to social media on Thursday morning, Ndlozi shared a gorgeous picture of Montsho pouting, and wrote: “Happy Birthday @montshotheblack… o holehole may God grant you prosperity in your arts wish you economic freedom in our lifetime.”

Though his Instagram followers were a bit chilled about it, Twitter couldn’t help but question his status. While some told him to marry the actor, some said his message sounded like the one who would send to his colleague and friend Julius Malema, not a bae.

These were some of the comments on Twitter:

“The most revolutionary birthday wish I have ever heard.”

“Makashadwe muhle lomuntu ☺️. Happy Birthday lady, may you have only best and hold on to the most beautiful end of happiness.”

“So Mbuyiseni, do you seriously believe that you would be a weak man if u said ‘HBDLove’? Wishing you financial prosperity- Are u African Bank now?”

“Awusafaki no I love you baby phakathi hayi ngeke.”

“It’s more like ‘Happy birthday comrade’.”

“The use of ‘Our’ In that sentence signifies intimacy.”

“I wanted to use that to justify his love but no! Use the words man!”

“No love or babe ? Whoa comrades love different banna.”

“Just marry that sister already commissar!! Sifun’umakoti!!!”

“Akuna no Love nyana? Kanti unjani leadership? Take us into your confidence with your love life, it shows true leadership.”

“So the Dr doesn’t call our Bae, love or baby or my angel? I don’t know how to feel about that??”

“Yah nneh. Dating a politician is tough . No sweet words, just straight forward talk.”
