Twitter goes on a frenzy with #Ramapostponer after Zuma refuses to step down

It has been a dramatic two weeks in the South African political landscape since talks of President Jacob Zuma resigning got under way.

Zuma has repeatedly rejected the ANC’s national executive committee’s (NEC) call and its recently elected president Cyril Ramaphosa’s request for him to vacate the position of state president.

This has earned Ramaphosa the moniker Ramapostponer with several tweeps taking to the social media platforms with the hashtag #Ramapostponer to share their views on the country’s deputy president’s efforts to ensure “a smooth transition of power” without “humiliating” Zuma having dragged on for this long.

Just yesterday, the NEC announced that it will make pronouncements on the Zuma exit issue this afternoon following Zuma’s refusal to step down, but that presser has also been postponed for 2pm. Here is what some tweeps had to say in the past week or so.
