Police Minister Fikile Mbalula on Tuesday thought it was a good idea to praise President Jacob Zuma, but made the “mistake” of involving former presidents Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe in his message.
The minister simply shared a picture of the three men and wrote “Presidents”, but it seems Twitter disagreed with him.
“The one in the middle not worthy to lead the proud organisation ANC. He is not my president,” said the first critic, while another gave Mbalula an “accurate” representation of the country.
Here is another, more acceptable, alternative suggested by one of the minister’s followers:
These were some of the comments:
“lol I see only 2 presidents in this picture.”
“Two presidents and a crook.”
“Two Great Men.”
“The man in the middle isn’t he a Mayor in Dubai?”
“President Thabo Mbeki is the only one I acknowledge.”
“Judging by number of comments, one can only say Majority rule.”
“Salute to my presidents, Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe. Though you were not perfect you served this country with integrity, thank you.”
“I only know Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe … One in the middle must be a foreign national.”
“Now you are spoiling all your great posts of today with this pic. Sorry, but true!”
“Honourable Minister, you can clearly see the outrage of the people. Get rid of that man!”
