The DA will lay a complaint with the speaker of the Beaufort West municipality against controversial ANC councillor Truman Prince.
The party is alleging that a “telephonic recording” has emerged in which Prince, a former ANC mayor of the town and now an ordinary councillor, threatened municipal manager Roelof van Staden “with his life”.
It is not clear how the DA obtained the recording and its authenticity has not been verified.
In it Truman is accused of “swearing at him [the municipal manager] and making derogatory remarks about the newly elected DA mayor Japie van der Linde.”.
The party is demanding a full investigation into the matter.
