Captain Daniel Mavimbela has confirmed that Ngoasheng appeared at the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on Monday, a day after shooting Sophie Ledwaba dead outside Ayepyep Lounge in Sunnyside, Pretoria.

Mavimbela said Ngoasheng was denied bail, and would reappear in court on 29 August. He remains in police custody.

Ngoasheng handed himself to police hours after he shot Ledwaba in the head. The incident occurred allegedly after the two had an argument over Ledwaba refusing to leave with him.

However, Mavibela states that another report claims Ledwaba would not leave the Mercedes-Benz Viano they were seated in together with other occupants.

“It was reported that the suspect had left the club with two females and a male friend. However, the quartet were about to get into a Mercedes-Benz Viano driven by the male friend. The young woman made her way inside the vehicle, which led to an argument as she was not welcome by the other occupants of the vehicle,” said Mavimbela.

A source has told The Citizen that Ngoasheng was not a blesser, instead he allegedly organised women for rich men.

“He [Ngoasheng] isn’t a blesser. He arranges girls for blessers by first feeding them, plying them with alcohol and then contacting his client base for them to go home with these girls.

“He is quite well-known around Sunnyside for his ‘services’. Popular and influential people have been associated with him,” the source said.
