The next ANC birthday will be at Umlazi playground – Malema
Malema threw insults at 'uneducated' President Zuma and mocked the ANC for needing to bus supporters to Soweto.
Julius Malema.
Speaking outside Durban’s Westville Prison on Sunday, EFF leader Julius Malema took several swipes at the ANC and President Jacob Zuma. The ruling party was celebrating its 105th birthday in Soweto.
Malema was at the prison to visit Bonginkosi Khanyile, a Durban University of Technology student awaiting trial for allegedly using a slingshot at a #FeesMustFall protest in September last year. Hundreds of EFF supporters waited outside the entrance as a large police contingent kept watch.

Malema complained that “KZN is tough because it smells like Zuma”. He said the EFF was taking care of Khanyile’s legal needs because “we support #FeesMustFall and we hire lawyers for those who are arrested”.
“Quality lawyers! We even hire lawyers for those ones of the ANC. Mcebo was neglected by the ANC and and we rescued him!”
He said that his visit had “encouraged Bonginkosi”.
“He asked that we bring books for him so he can be a graduate of life. They want to break the spirit of those who fight for free education but they must not break you.
“We don’t want to be like Zuma, we want education! We don’t want to be like Khulubuse, we want education! Hlaudi does not want education. He refuses to be educated! We are not like that, we want education!
“They hate education because it’s a threat to whites. When blacks are educated who will be domestic workers? They hate free education because it’s true liberation. Colonisation took education from us. Claim it back!
“We are sellers of cheap labour because we are not educated! We want to be an educated people like Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is poor today but their future looks bright. The fruits of education eventually feed the people. Zimbabwe is the future of Africa once sanctions are removed. We want free decolonised education!”
He pointed to how factionalism had damaged the ruling party.
“You must build functional and not factional branches. When the ANC kills each other we must build.
“We’re the only organisation that increased votes. Those who are mathematically challenged don’t see. No party grew like us. Building a political party is not like making popcorn.
“I’m proud of KZN because it’s tougher here than it is in other provinces. I will visit each branch this year. We built a formidable alternative for black people.”
In reference to how the EFF had installed the DA in power in three major metros, Malema said: “We’ll never give ANC our vote! We didn’t give the DA our vote, we didn’t give IFP our vote. We removed ANC!
“What is black about RDP? What is the ANC doing that black people can be proud of? The ANC works for whites. Look at the Gautrain, who is it for? They only work for white people! The EFF never signed a contract that says black people must buy land, the ANC did. But they say we are sellouts.”
He then mocked the ruling party for how it had arranged its birthday celebration.
#Malema; They fetched people from as far as Nkandla to take them to Soweto but Soweto has 6 million residents! #FreeBonginkosiKhanyile

“They fetched people from as far as Nkandla to take them to Soweto but Soweto has 6 million residents! You must celebrate! The ANC used to celebrate at FNB but now they celebrate at Orlando! We humbled them!
“The EFF went to Orlando without a single bus. We have humbled them. How do you recover in a small stadium? That’s what happens when you’re lead by an uneducated president.
“The ANC spends money to fill up Orlando. Whoever thought that a 105-year old party would celebrate at Orlando? They used to celebrate at FNB, now they celebrate at Orlando. Next year they’ll be at Umlazi playground.”
