Kagiso police on the West Rand arrested three suspects on Friday, January 13, after they had allegedly kidnapped and severely assaulted a man in Kagiso, Krugersdorp News reports.
It is alleged the complainant was at his home in Kagiso on Friday, January 6, when five suspects aged between 29 and 49 approached him. The suspects allegedly accused the complainant of stealing a car radio before forcefully loading him into their vehicle.
It is believed the suspects drove to a local graveyard where they severely assaulted the complainant with their fists, booted feet and iron bars. The alleged attackers left the complainant in the graveyard and drove off. The victim went to a local hospital for treatment and then reported the incident at the Kagiso Police Station.
An investigation was launched, and a week later, three suspects were cornered and arrested at various addresses. Police are still looking for the remaining two suspects.

A case of assault and kidnapping was opened, and the suspects are still being detained at the police station.
They were expected to appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court shortly after their arrests.
Brigadier Ngubane, Kagiso Police station commander, warned community members not to assault people against whom they believe they have a case, but advised them to rather report it at police stations.
“Taking the law into your own hands will always get you into trouble,” Ngubane said. “So do the right thing by reporting crime to the police instead of your friends.”
