WATCH: A video accusing Curro of racism resurfaces on Twitter
A 2015 video found its way into 2020 and people are still reacting.
Curro Roodeplaat
In the old video, the school is accused of racism, as white and black kids were separated into different classes, with the white children all being put into one class.
In the clip, the principal explains that the school only grouped the kids together based on their race to “promote a multiracial school”.
In light of the old clip going viral online, Curro Holding released a statement saying:
“We have been made aware of social media posts with wrongful allegations of discriminatory behaviour against Curro, relating back to cases in 2015 and 2018. Please note that these cases were successfully concluded after investigation by the DBE and the SAHRC. We want to reiterate that this is not an accurate reflection of our schools and the situation referred to and we reserve our rights in this regard.
“Curro welcomes all comments that are constructive and contribute to discussions in a meaningful manner. However, we do not condone cyber bullying, religious intolerance, hate speech, derogatory language, misrepresentation and comments reflecting negatively on our brand on any social media pages.”
