Sho Madjozi slams Zuma’s ‘mass looting of state funds’

Twitter, meanwhile, is debating whether or not the rapper meeting John Cena is a national achievement.

Rapper Sho Madjozi found herself trending on Twitter on Monday for two different reasons.

One was the reaction to the reason she gave on the social media platform for why she had waited over eight hours for a delayed international flight at OR Tambo international.

“Business rescue on SAA, my friend. But if you wanna go deeper; it’s because of mass looting of state funds under [former president Jacob Zuma].”

Another was a debate surrounding whether or not her meeting John Cena amounted to an achievement on the same level as Zozibini Tunzi’s Miss Universe victory, the Springboks winning the world cup, and national netball team the Proteas winning the 2019 Africa Netball Cup.

After a Twitter user posted photographs of these three events as well as Sho Madjozi’s meeting John Cena on the Kelly Clarkson show because of her hit song by the same name, numerous Twitter users expressed the view that the rapper’s moment of joy was not a national achievement on the same level as the others.

Some, however, defended the rapper and said her winning a BET award this year and the international success of the song John Cena, rather than just her meeting him, were her national achievements.

The rapper, meanwhile, got a harsh response for her Zuma tweet, with many taking to the platform to express disappointment at her criticism of the former leader. Others, however, thought she was spot-on in her assessment.

“Zuma loyalists, hands off Sho Madjozi,” tweeted one user.
