Nikki Shange’s advice to Linda Mtoba on painless natural birth sets Twitter alight

Though Shange has trended for her unconventional statements before, some of her followers reckon this one takes the trophy.

Nikki Shange, aka daughter of the Rabbi, landed on the Twitter trends list after responding to pregnant Linda Mtoba’s question on natural birth. The actor asked her followers on social media to try and explain, honestly and realistically, how sore natural birth was.

Though some told her the process was excruciating, some said the pain was bearable and she would heal after a week or two after giving birth.

“A human body can bear only up to 47 units of pain. But at the time of giving birth, a woman feels up to 57 units of pain. This is similar to twenty bones getting [fractured] at a time… that’s the best description I can think of,” said Unathi Mbekela, while Sam Mthiyane said: “It’s different for each person. Don’t work yourself up on other people’s experiences cause that’s what makes people nervous, what I was told and what I experienced was totally different, it was painful but bearable, I would do it again.”

But Nikki Shange offered another explanation that made labour painless – without using medication either.

According to Shange, Mtoba must just choose to have a painless labour experience.

“It’s not sore at all unless you’re still under the curse of Adam. We are now under the blessing, not the curse. Christ came and reconciled us to The Father and removed sin and all things that come from sin. So if you still get period pains or labour pains, it’s your choice to,” said Shange.

“Pain came because of the fall of Adam. And sin came because of that. But we thank The Father for sending us His Son to die for us. To reconcile us back to Him. We thank God for the covenant of Grace which has set us free from the curse. We are now under the blessing.

“It takes the renewal of the mind through The Word of God to realise the Truth, that all these sicknesses and pain are in the mind. Christ set us free. Stop willingly wanting to suffer by rejecting the Truth.”

Her explanation has amused social media users – Christians and non-Christians alike – with most asking if she had experienced painless labour.

Though Shange has trended for her unconventional statements before, some of her followers reckon this one takes the trophy.
