Swaziland found itself topping the South African Twitter trends list after Mzansi men said they were relocating to eSwatini following a media report claiming King Mswati III had ordered men in his country to marry more than two women or face jail.

Following the report, South African men took to social media to express their interest to relocate to eSwatini to be afforded an opportunity to marry more than two women without any trouble.

However, King Mswati III issued a statement on Monday denouncing the reports, calling them an insult to the monarchy and disgrace to journalism.
Government spokesperson Percy N. Simelane said in a statement: “His Majesty has not made any pronouncement to that effect as it has never been an issue raised by Emaswati.
“We will continue to appeal for morality, responsible behaviour, and professionalism among journalists and the general public with access to social media. It would be unfortunate if journalism and social media are turned into character assassination platforms and springboards to ridicule individuals and leaders”
