I sleep ‘very well … with my wife’, says Mzwanele Manyi

Vavi had asked the PPF leader how he slept at night when he spent so much time defending the president.

Public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has been criticised by many, though some have commended her for “taking on white monopoly capital” – probing a 30-year-old deal and finding that Absa must repay R1.125 billion to the state.

One of those who have been rallying behind her is Progressive Professionals’ Forum’s Mzwanele Manyi, who claimed on eNCA to have read Mkhwebane’s report twice.

Manyi wrote over the weekend that the matter was a simple piece of corruption, since Bankorp had been given money by the South African Reserve Bank at low interest and then reinvested that money with the same bank for more interest.

South African Federation of Trade Unions (Saftu) leader Zwelinzima Vavi, however, asked Manyi on the same TV show how he slept at night.

Watch the video below:

Vavi charged that Manyi was among a cohort of people using the decades-old Bankorp bailout as a distraction from the far more pressing dangers of modern state capture in the form of the Guptas and their relationship with President Jacob Zuma.

Now Manyi has responded to Vavi’s question on Twitter, though he did not tweet at him directly, but at a Twitter user who also asked the same question.

“Jimmy, Vavi asked asked on Sunday how you sleep at night? I am also interested in knowing how sleep,” he said.

In case you were wondering, Manyi said he slept “very well” with none other than his “wife”, a statement that left some wondering if he was throwing shade at Vavi, who has had an extramarital affair.
