Sexual harassment claims levelled against the Guptas
Leaked emails show how three women who worked for the Guptas complained about giving massages and having to sleep in the same bed as one Gupta brother during a trip.

The women had all been personal assistants and were employed by the Guptas, according to a report by Daily Maverick.
In one instance, one employee had flown to Cape Town with Tony Gupta, and while there she was told she would share a hotel room with him. When she refused and insisted on having her own room and bathroom, he then allegedly asked her for a massage. The woman then left the hotel and asked her family to come and pick her up.
“I, [Name], [ID number], hereby hand in my resignation letter with immediate effect under the circumstances of Sexual Harassment,” read her resignation letter.
Another employee said she was uncomfortable with the advances one brother made to her but she kept quiet out of fear of losing her job. She was apparently given gifts in the form of money after each encounter she had with a Gupta.
“After every [inappropriate] incident, I would get a small ‘payback’ for all my hard work.”
Another woman was awarded R60 000 in damages after she brought a case of sexual harassment against a male employee.
The Guptas have not responded to requests for a comment.
