Following his biggest television blunder last week, SABC News anchor Peter Ndoro has apologised to viewers for declaring the leader of the Inkatha Freedom Party, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, dead.
In what was supposed to be an interview last Thursday on the reaction of Buthelezi to the news that former Bophuthatswana leader Kgosi Lucas Mangope had died, turned out to be an embarrassing on-air slip-up by Ndoro, who inadvertently declared the IFP leader dead.

In a tweet at the weekend, Ndoro apologised and took responsibility for the mistake.
“It was my fault entirely. It happens sometimes you think about another person as you want to say someone else’s name. I only realised afterwards what I had done. I’m sure it has happened to us all. Being human is not an exact science. An honest slip of the mind. Sorry,” he said.
