Saulsville Arena filled to capacity as DA details Gauteng manifesto
The opposition party says it aims to show people how they plan on harnessing the opportunities Gauteng has to offer, including 'fixing' Eskom.

DA Premier candidate Solly Msimanga gave an enthusiastic breakdown of what is to be discussed at the party’s Gauteng manifesto launch today.
The launch is currently taking place at the Saulsville Arena in Atteridgeville, Tshwane.

Msimanga said that the DA will be detailing how they are going to change Gauteng “to be a truly progressive and prosperous province”, and that the province is “pregnant with opportunities” that need to be recognised.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane addressed a cheering crowd as it said that other parties needed to “sort out their nonsense” and let the DA allow the country to become “One South Africa for all”.
He said that when the DA comes into power, it plans to turn the Union Buildings into a tourist site, as current government is “keeping too many secrets” there.
So far, the launch has detailed the party’s plan to have one employed person for each household in South Africa, and has called for an end to racism. Maimane claimed that the DA was the only party capable of being able to unite South Africa.
The party also boldly declared that it had a plan that could fix Eskom’s current woes, by harnessing solar energy through independent power producers.

The party explained that the only way to allow Gauteng to thrive and recognise its abundant opportunities was to eradicate the “mismanagement and maladministration of the ANC government.”
And in this way, it says, South Africa will function optimally, if Gauteng is run well.
