As her second term as Western Cape Premiere comes to an end, Helen Zille used her final state of the province address to boast “10 years of good governance in the province.”
Zille and her government claim to have spent the last 10 years building a capable state and backed this claim up with various facts and figures pertaining to the state of the province since she was first elected premiere back in 2009.
Her address was temporarily disrupted by an ANC walkout which saw her husband, Professor Johann Maree, get accosted by ANC members but it was back to business shortly after that.
The premiere covered everything from bylaws and visible policing to land distribution and education.
