‘I’m a newborn when it comes to Zuma’ – Malema forgives JZ

The once frosty relationship between mentor and mentee seems to have thawed.

Speaking during a press briefing, where the party’s campaign TV commercial was launched, EFF president Julius Malema confirmed that he had let go of his gripe against former ANC president Jacob Zuma.

This after he answered a two-pronged question on his previous public statements. In his answer, he touched on what his party would do should they win as per their election promises.

Addressing topics such as health, land, and corruption, Malema stated that his organisation “supports what Pravin is doing”.

“Our problem is that it must be targeted on Africans. When it’s Indians, when it’s white, to a particular extent, even coloured, there is no rough attitude we see like we see with Africans. We cannot allow that,” said Malema.

“The attitude to deal with corruption decisively, we agree with it without fear or favour. We agree with Pravin entirely. The problem is the approach,” he added.

He went on to state that he no longer ignored Zuma when they ran into each other in public, adding that he believed he must still face the music.

“I’m a newborn when it comes to Zuma. In the past, I would walk past him and not greet him. Because I accept that these things happen in life, I’ve forgiven him, I will shake his hand but I still want to see him in a court of law answering for his sins,” said Malema.
