No need to steal my statements – De Lille to Maimane

Perhaps De Lille's former colleague was quoting her when he made this morning's pronouncement against Nomvula Mokonyane.

Former Cape Town mayor Patricia De Lille has hit back at her former party once again, this time accusing the DA leader’s speechwriters of co-opting her former statements in new speeches for Mmusi Maimane.

In a recent tweet, she even sarcastically offered her writing skills to the politician seeing as he allegedly liked her words so much he decided to reuse them.

We have not been able to trace the statement where the words Maimane tweeted may have been used so we cannot speak to the veracity of De Lille’s allegations, but she has been known to share evidence of her claims on social media.

She recently did exactly that when she alleged that the DA is still telling voters that she is part of the party.

Maimane has yet to respond to De Lille.
